Injured

Well, I ended up hurting myself somehow and I haven't trained for the past week. I am going to see a chiropractor tomorrow for treatment. I had surgery on my tailbone 9 months ago and the pain is flaring up again in that area. I hope to be back on the mats soon, but at the moment I can't sit up or bend so jiu-jitsu movements will be hard to do. Since I couldn't blog about any of my training, here is a video of a simple choke being demonstrated.

  1. That choke seems quite simple yet effective. Getting someone into the position in order to perform that hold seems to be the most difficult part of it.

I bruised my tailbone once, many years ago, and it was not a fun time, to say the least. I hope yours gets better soon.

  2. The choke can also be done from a standing position, so if you are able to sneak up behind somebody, you can choke them.

My pain is slowly getting better but I'm not even thinking about training right now. I hope I can heal fast over the next week or so.

  3. When I saw the video, it looked like a move that could break the neck, if the right amount of pressure was applied. In the end, This certainly does not look like something that I could easily do.

  4. The choke cannot break somebody's neck, but it can put them to sleep. The choke is actually painless when applied properly. When a person goes unconscious, they wake up usually within 10-15 seconds and they are unsure of what happened. This isn't safe, however, there is no pain involved.
