First Week

This week started out great on Monday with my instructor promoting me to blue belt. I have been a white belt for the last few years so I was very excited to receive my blue belt. As a blue belt, I have to reach the purple and brown belt levels before I can become a black belt. I trained Monday-Friday (9/27-10/1) and I learned a lot of techniques in the process. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are gi days, where we train in uniform. Tuesday and Thursday are no-gi days where we wear shorts/t-shirts. It's important to learn how to adjust the techniques for both styles so that they can be applied all the time.
